  • Small Breed Styling & Grooming | Rachel Ann's Country Clips Pet Grooming

Small Breed Styling & Grooming -1906 poodle in a show cut Dog grooming has been known to have existed since Roman times but didn’t exist the way it does today; for many centuries, grooming was a luxury reserved for aristocratic pets and valuable hunting dogs. During the 1500s, densely coated water dogs (curly coated retrievers and poodles) were clipped so that they could move in and out of the water quickly and left small tufts of hair covering their joints to keep them warm. The hair on top of the head would be tied up with a brightly colored ribbon to enable the dog to see well. In the early times, poodles were clipped to look like lions, and by the 1700s, the French started clipping various poodle cuts. Still, dog groomers didn’t have the luxury or convenience of tools we have today. Dogs were often bathed outdoors in basins and by rivers. Until the Victorian era (1837-1901), many resisted bathing and washing their dogs because disease transmission was poorly understood. There wasn’t the convenience we have today with plumbing, electricity, central heating, pure tap water, or effective soap. Grooming - Why Does My Dog Need To Be Groomed? Cleanliness – The primary reason we groom is, of course, for cleanliness. We want to keep dogs clean just as we keep ourselves clean. Keeping dogs clean helps encourage hair growth and removes dead skin and hair and dirt that may otherwise stick to other surfaces, like furniture and carpets. Health – Dogs are our best friends and loyal companions, and as such, we have to make sure they live a long and healthy life. And one of the best ways to keep them healthy is to groom them. Grooming helps us check for cuts, lumps, swelling, lameness, and other signs of illness. It decreases the chance of other health problems such as thrush, tooth rot, allergies, infection, scratches, and other skin problems. It also stimulates blood flow and the lymphatic system, improving your dog’s overall health. Parasites – One of a dogs' most common and persistent problems is parasites. Whether internal or external, these critters always do a lot of damage to your dog in more ways than one. But grooming stops this as it helps you keep an eye out for them. Preventing Pain – Aside from preventing sickness, grooming can also alleviate your dog from pain. Mats (knotting of the hair) in their fur can often cause pain when these pull on their skin, and their nails can also cause them pain when they grow too long and curl into their paw pads. Appearance – Grooming, of course, makes your dog look bright and healthy. Why Choose Rachel Ann's Country Clips Pet Grooming? • Micro Bubble | Rachel Ann's Country Clips Pet Grooming | Pocono Summit

Micro-Bubble Technology Why Thera-Clean cleaned skin is healthier skin Dirt, bacteria, yeast, and allergens trapped in pets’ coats, pores, and hair follicles can cause rashes, infections, and skin conditions that make your pet’s life miserable. Proven, patented Thera-Clean® Microbubble technology gets to the root of the problem with deeper cleaning to support healing. Micro-Bubble Technology is Here! Rachel Ann's Country Clips is proud to announce that in September of 2014, we were the first grooming salon on the entire east coast to offer this patented microbubble state-of-the-art technology for your pet. Make an appointment today for your pet to experience a Brand New Clean using MicroBubble Technology by TheraClean! What Are Micro-Bubbles & How Do They Work? What are Microbubbles? Simply speaking, microbubbles are just very small bubbles. To qualify as "micro", a bubble must, in fact, be less than 1000 micrometers in size. However, to be effective for deep cleaning skin, the bubbles should be less than 25 micrometers in size and larger than 2. This allows them to penetrate hair follicles and skin pores while not passing through the epidermis. Thera-Clean has perfected a system that uniformly generates bubbles ranging from 3 to 20 micrometers. To put this in perspective, a typical human red blood cell is approximately 8 micrometers in size; a human hair is about 70 micrometers, and most bacteria are between 3 and 40 micrometers in size. How Do Microbubbles Work? Properly generated microbubbles carry a slight negative charge. This attracts positively charged molecules of dander, sebum, and other organic matter. Some of the bubbles actually oscillate and implode from increased water pressure giving off significant energy, which aids in dislodging organic waste. In fact, as the bath progresses, the warmth of the water will actually rise to a comfortable temperature. To further this process, the Thera-Clean system also utilizes a natural plant-based enzyme powder that further softens and helps dislodge debris allowing the microbubbles to adhere to and remove waste. Microbubbles are already field-tested in other non-medical areas. Generators are used in huge man-made oyster beds in Japan to clean the inside of the oyster before they are harvested. The difference is amazing. They are being used extensively in waste management facilities as well to facilitate cleaning. They have also found potential commercial applications in cargo vessels to deceases water drag and increase fuel efficiency. Finally, there is extensive research into using them as a contrast agent in place of dye for tumor detection and peripheral vascular disease investigation. Some universities are also experimenting with using them as carriers for anti-viral and anti-cancer agents to better target the application. Advantages of Micro Bubble Bathing All Natural - No Soaps or Chemicals. Deep clean with nothing but water bubbles. This may sound impossible, but these are innovative microbubbles. When pets are experiencing allergies or skin sensitivities, the avoidance of soaps, surfactants, and chemicals can prove extremely beneficial. Completely Non-Abrasive Other than picking the animal up to place into the tub, there is no other need to touch the pet. This is extremely important for animals that have severely inflamed skin. Reduced contact combined with deep cleaning also enhances the healing process. Environmentally Friendly The future of our planet is extremely important. A Thera-Clean treatment uses no chemicals whatsoever. If needed, only natural plant-based enzymes are used to assist the microbubbles in lifting the debris up from the animal's skin and pores. Hypoallergenic Simply put- it's literally impossible for the animal to be allergic to a Thera-Clean treatment. Hands-Free Approach As we discussed, with the technology being non-abrasive, all of these benefits apply to groomers as well. Many Japanese grooming professionals describe a decreased back strain due to the hands-free approach, and many report less dry skin and irritation to their hands. Never Shampoo Again It may seem to be only a dream, but it is possible. Microbubble technology does what shampoo simply can't do. They clean deep in hair follicles and pores. Animals with extremely oily skin will benefit from an initial shampoo to facilitate bubble penetration. In these cases, we sell our Thera-Clean all-natural shampoos. Let's Get Social

  • FAQ | Rachel Ann's Country Clips Pet Grooming | Pocono Summit | Pennsylvania | United States

FAQ's Rachel Ann's Country Clips Pet Grooming Most Frequently Asked Questions DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY PET? Yes, at least a twenty-four-hour notice is needed however, we cannot guarantee we can fit you into our schedule that fast. Please look at your pet's vaccines and ensure they have what we require. We will not schedule an appointment until proof of all three vaccines is given to us. CAN I HAVE SOMEONE OTHER THAN MYSELF PICK UP MY PET AFTER GROOMING? Yes, you may but just let us know in advance or we will not release your pet. This is for your pet’s protection. WILL MY PET BE SEDATED OR GIVEN TRANQUILIZERS AT YOUR FACILITY? No! Never! We never tranquilize or sedate any animal. It is ILLEGAL for a Groomer to sedate an animal for any reason, including grooming. Our goal is to have your pet come into a calm environment where they feel safe and secure. It may take several visits for your pet to feel good about coming here because everything is new to them, but we have lots of patience. We have worked with numerous pets that have been "anxious' about coming to the groomer with fantastic results. Only your Veterinarian can prescribe sedatives for your dog along with full instructions of use. Any sedatives must be administered by you or your Vet prior to the grooming appointment. If your Vet recommends any type of sedation for your dog for grooming, please inform us prior to your appointment, including the type of sedative, dosage, and the hour the sedative was administered. WHAT IS YOUR POLICY CONCERNING VACCINATIONS? We have a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of all the animals in our care, so we require that every furry guest be vaccinated against certain serious, contagious diseases. All Dogs - Must be current on vaccinations for Rabies, Distemper (which includes the Parvo Vaccine), and Bordetella. Adult Dogs - All Vaccines that are given for the very first time generally have a waiting period between 7-10 days prior to grooming. This time allows the body to build immunity and offer maximum protection for your pet as well as others. An example of this would be if your dog is up to date on Rabies and Distemper but has never had the Bordetella Vaccination. IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR DOGS - Due To Recent Outbreaks Of Canine Influenza In Surrounding States - We Highly Recommend Speaking With Your Veterinarian To Include The Canine Influenza Vaccination To Your Dogs Vaccine Regimen. Puppies - They must receive their complete final series of vaccines we require prior to grooming. IF ALL THE OTHER PETS ARE VACCINATED, THEN MY DOG WON'T GET SICK - SO WHY DOES MINE HAVE TO BE VACCINATED? HE NEEDS A GROOMING NOW, TODAY! Mama always said if you have nothing good to say, don't say anything at all. We kindly won't respond, but let you contemplate the obvious answer to this question.
